| The Joy of Play |
|
There are many ways to think about creativity. From ancient times, it has been associated with the Divine or the "Muse". We now know that inspiration is available to all of us through the process of listening or paying attention to our senses or the "inner world of imagination".
Because life is a "Creative Process" it is very important to understand the phases. First we use our intellect to clarify our questions or set an intention. But then, we have to "let go"! This sometimes nerve racking phase is what allows those "new ideas" to emerge into our conscious mind! Only then do we have what we need to take the next step.
If there is no room for play, there is little room for the joy of surprise to slip into your art or your life! For those who feel they are struggling through life, it can be a real turning point to understand that the creative process needs to breathe, allowing "playful" experimentation!
